Bespoke PR – Digital Consultancy – Event Management
Born and raised in London to Ghanaian parents, Akosua Annobil is an award-winning public relations manager and entrepreneur who has worked in the media industry since the mid-1990s, and currently operates out of Accra, Ghana, and her hometown (UK). Akosua owes much of her unique knowledge of how to communicate with British and African audiences to her late Ghanaian grandfather, who trained as a journalist on London’s Fleet Street and became General Manager of the Ghana News Agency, and Chief Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Marketing Board.
After graduating from the University of the Arts London, Akosua honed her journalism skills working at publications such as the Financial Times, and spent seven years as News and Entertainment Editor at Europe’s then biggest-selling newspaper targeting people of African and Caribbean descent, New Nation.
As an early adopter of digital media, Akosua is a steering group member of Tech London Advocates’ Africa group, and has spent the past 15 years identifying online trends, developing niche concepts, and launching new products throughout the African diaspora.
Her extensive portfolio includes productions for American TV network BET, five years presenting commercial radio on Choice FM in Britain, and the production of numerous live music events, awards ceremonies, album launches, and youth development projects.
Previous partners and clients include the Oxford Business Group, UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Business Council for Africa, the Africa Technology Business Network, the Mayor of London, the BBC, the Prince’s Trust, and the Observer newspaper.
More recently, Akosua has worked alongside platforms such as The Global African Investment Summit, Angel Fair Africa, and Ghana Fashion & Design Week, and founded AB2020, which highlights investment, entrepreneurship and initiatives in sub-saharan Africa, and facilitates market entry in to Ghana.
